Product details

The CA80 universal sensor provides a stable and economical platform for online measurement of pH, ORP, specific ions, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, or resistivity. The CA80 type is a plug-in or immersion sensor used at the end of a pipeline tee or riser, which can be immersed in a water tank or pond. The CA80 model can also be used as a valve with a retractable design, allowing sensors to be inserted or moved into pipelines without interrupting the process flow. Both sensor designs use easily replaceable electrode cartridges. 3S provides a variety of ion selective electrode boxes suitable for continuous online measurement.

Calcium ion electrode is a combination electrode, and its sensing element consists of a PVC membrane containing an ion exchanger and a double junction reference electrode. The calcium ion selective electrode box generates a millivolt potential proportional to the concentration of calcium ions in the measurement solution. The response speed ranges from a few seconds in concentrated solution to a few minutes in the lower ppm range. The calcium ion sensor is used in conjunction with the T80 controller and has dual channel mixing and matching functions. This analyzer can measure calcium levels ranging from 20ppb to 40000ppm, automatically adjusting the display between ppb, ppm, and ppt (parts per thousand) scales.

Calcium ion electrode is an ion exchange sensor with selectivity for calcium ions, but many anions also interact with the sensing membrane. Lead ions strongly interfere with measurements, with 2 lead ions equal to 1 calcium ion. Mercury, iron (II), copper (II), nickel (II), and ammonium interfere in a ratio of 1000-3000:1. PH can also interfere with low-level measurements. For concentrations<1ppmCa++, maintain pH>4. Hydroxides, carbonates, fluorides, phosphates, and sulfates all complex with calcium ions. Adjusting pH<7 can eliminate carbonate and hydroxide problems. Calibrate the sensor using two standard solutions with a concentration difference of 10 times, namely 10ppm and 100ppm. Calibrate the slope of the electrode, mV/decade, and zero potential of the sensor.

In many cases, the ionic strength, temperature, and pH value of the process solution will differ significantly from those of the calibration solution. These factors can affect the zero potential of calcium sensors, leading to offset, but they usually do not affect the slope. To eliminate offset, perform standardization and single point online calibration. Once the sensor is stable in the process solution, the sample is taken out of the process and the calcium ion concentration is determined. Adjust the analyzer to read the values determined by this laboratory. Suggest verifying readings weekly.
